“Never understood why people like this guy,” slammed one angry tweeter. Seacrest - who hosted “Idol” during the show’s original run from 2002 to 2016 - also faced backlash on Twitter for the way he reportedly manipulated singer Olivia Soli into believing she was in the show’s top 12 when she actually was not. “Ryan not softening any blows lmao,” quipped another.Ī third person simply stated that Seacrest’s comment was just “evil.” “‘We might lose you tonight’ was so nasty omg,” commented one Reddit user.
The comment sparked an immediate backlash against the TV personality and mogul. “You sang ‘Lose You to Love Me,'” said the host.
